2012 NSBUA UMPIRE TRAINING CLASS will take place starting on Monday, January 23 @ 6:00 pm at the North Shore Regional Vocational High School, 30 Log Bridge Road Middleton, MA. Class cost is $100.00 and includes course materials, the State Certification Exam, and first year's NSBUA dues. The class will meet on consecutive Monday evenings over the course of eight weeks culminating with the taking of the MBUA certification test on the final night. The course covers all aspects of umpiring: rules, positioning, mechanics and game control. Although the primary goal is to prepare candidates for certification as high school umpires, many past participants have taken the course to umpire at lower levels or to just increase their knowledge of the game of baseball. Several high school coaches have taken the course in the past to improve their knowledge of the rules of the game. The cost of the school is $80 which covers materials, the exam fee and first year's dues in the NSBUA for all successfully completing the course.
